Projection Alarm Clock
The Projection Alarm Clock is no Longer Just a Gadget
For those people who like to be able to see the time without having to actually be able to see
the clock perhaps one of the coolest gadget clocks has to be the projection alarm
clock. The idea behind this type of clock is quite simple; it projects the time onto any flat surface so that
it can be seen from across the room when you are lying in bed. This allows you to able to see the time when you
wake up in the middle of the night without having to fumble for the clock.
Along with this if you are the kind of person who sleeps on their side but does not want to
stare at the light emanating from the numbers on your digital clock a projection alarm clock could be the answer to
your problem. You can still see the time when you want as it is displayed on the wall or ceiling but it is not
staring you in the face all night long.
There are several styles and manufacturers to choose from to help personalize your choice of
projection alarm clock and they all have different features to offer. You also have
a choice of the color of the projected time, most clocks display it in red but there are some that project the time
in blue. Features on these alarm clocks range from how the time is displayed i.e. 12 or 24 hour displays to
multifaceted information panels.
Several manufacturers have begun to offer a second projected display that shows you the outside
temperature so that you know what you are waking up to in the morning. This very popular option can also be
accompanied by a full display on the clock itself where you can see not only the outside temperature but the
temperature indoors.
Several of the most advanced versions such as those by La Crosse and Oregon Scientific use
changes in barometric pressure to predict the weather and an idea of what the weather will be like for the next few
hours.
The latest trends in digital clocks have been
called radio controlled or atomic clocks. These clocks use a signal generated and transmitted by the atomic clocks
located in several countries around the globe to set the time. This signal is generated at 60 hertz and broadcasts
a code that a tiny radio receiver inside your alarm clock picks up and uses to set the time, this keeps the time on
your clock as accurately set as the atomic clock itself. Using this signal your clock automatically updates itself
on a regular basis and can be taken anywhere in the world where there is signal where it will automatically update
to local time.
What started out as a gadget has now become a very popular clock with a multitude of uses, they
can even be used in a child’s room as a night light to help them feel safe at night. With a projection clock in
your bedroom there will be no more need to squint at your clock to see what time it is since it will be beamed onto
your wall or ceiling large enough for all to see.
